L: = Leslie T: = Tony
L: 我到喜歡’’加冰兩個男人’’(two men with ice), 我最喜歡……

Christopher Doyle interviewed with Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung before they shoot the film in Argentina. Tony and Leslie had been taking tango and Spanish lessons at the time. (Aug.-Sep. 1996)
Chris: I think it (shooting by handheld camera) is like a dancing...
Leslie: Don't shoot only our feet when we are dancing. All the cue for feelings and motions are reflected in our eyes.
Tony: Just like our acting.
Chris: When I work with you, I'll try to see your eyes and your body language...to know where you are going and where my camera should be!
Tony: So, the camera is sort of a woman who is lead by a man in tango?
Leslie: Tony, what am I then? When we dance milonga, you lead me. Am I a camera which reflects you, a man?
Tony: That's what I am thinking about the whole film...who leads and who follows...what makes "a man" of him...It's a question which may never be answered... I feel it's the very question that captivates Wong Kar-Wai.
Tony: I've been learning foreign languages for almost every films since my A City of Sadness.'
Leslie: And we've been learning them for our music too. Mandarin, Taiwanese, english...and Japanese.
Chris: That's the job of actors. To speak through the "words" of persona...
Leslie: But when we start to play with words, our Spanish teacher gets angry seriously!
Chris: I think it's the only way to learn a language to play with it.
Tony: But she doesn't think so......when we mingled 'Cafe con leche (coffee with milk)' and 'Agua con gas (soda water)' and said 'Cafe con gas (soda coffee)', she boiled with anger.
Leslie: I like 'Dos hombres con hielo (two men with ice)', I like it most...
Chris: (laughing) Where on earth do you keep it?
Leslie: Of course, in the freezer at the hotel's mini-bar!
